|
The house was built in 1800 and has been lovingly restored over the past twenty-five years. Special care has been taken to retain many original features and furnishings. Of special charm is the wallpaper in the drawing room which is original and has been there since 1823 as well as wonderful original gilded curtain pelmets which bear the coat of arms of the Kearney Family who built the house. At Blanchville, rooms are big and bright and furnished to give an air of elegance and relaxation. There are six well appointed spacious bedrooms, each with it's own individual character and private bathroom. In the drawing room, which still retains it's original wallpaper, you may relax in front of a blazing fire, browse through a selection of books and magazines or if you perfer, simply sit back and savour the restful ambiance of the house.
