Clonalis
House is the ancestral home of the OConors of Connacht, descendants
of the last High Kings of Ireland and traditional Kings of Connacht. The
house offers an opportunity to explore the rich history of the OConors,
including Carolan's Harp, family portraits and the Coronation Stone.
Built on a wooded 700 acre estate, Clonalis is a comfortable 45 roomed
Victorian Italianate Manor where guests can be confident of a warm welcome
and good food (dinner is available Tuesday to Saturday).
The bedrooms all have been individually decorated with original furniture
including four-poster and half-tester beds. Clonalis is an ideal location
from which to explore Roscommon's rich heritage and Galway City, Sligo
and Mayo, are all within one hours drive.
