Self Catering Fishing Lodges/Cottages

The Drowes Fishery is one of Ireland’s premier spring salmon and grilse fisheries. The Drowes is among the earliest opening salmon fisheries in the country and regularly claims the honour of producing Ireland’s first salmon of the season on opening day, January 1st.

There are 11 cottages available for rent on the estate throughout the season. In addition we have 2 cottages for rent near the estate subject to availability.

Each cottage comes equipped with all modern conveniences - television, DVD and CD player, dishwasher, coffee maker etc. All cottages are centrally heated and also have an open fire. Items such as bed linen and towels are provided.

Booking are usually on a Saturday to Saturday basis except during early season when midweek and weekend breaks are available.

River Cottage Guesthouse

River Cottage Guesthouse is situated right on the banks of the river Drowes within casting distance of prolific pools such as the Black Hole and Old Mill Pool.

The house itself is a refurbished 400 year old mill, now providing 4 luxurious ensuite bedrooms.

Other facilities include residents’ lounge, freezing and drying rooms, fly tying facilities and extensive fishing library.
