Farran
House is a large, elegant 18th century, Italianate style, Irish manor
house situated in the rolling hills of the Lee valley, overlooking the
medieval castle and abbey of Kilcrea.
It is a perfect base for exploring counties Cork and Kerry. It is situated
9 miles from Blarney, 38 miles from Killarney and 10 miles from Cork city
and airport.
The house is spectacularly set in 12 acres of mature beech woodland and
landscaped gardens. It has been carefully restored, yet retains it'soriginal
character and charm. All four guestrooms have large bathrooms and beautiful
views over the surrounding countryside.
In addition to the antique furnishings throughout the house you will
also find a grand piano in the drawing room and a full size billiard table
in the billiard room.
"On entering Farran House the first thing you notice is the sense
of grandeur and warmth, brought about by abundance of light and space.
The clever design means that every room has at least one South facing
window and another window facing in a different direction.
The large rooms, high ceilings, and soft colours further enhance the effect."

Self Catering Coach House
The coach house is adjacent to the main house and like the main house
it has been completely restored but in a less formal style. It is full
of character, you will find several antique furnishings throughout, each
one with a story attached and the walls are decorated with interesting
prints
It has excellent facilities, the kitchen is fully equipped and the shower
has the same high pressure as the main house, bed linen and towels are
provided. There is a private patio and the gardens of Farran House are
there for you to enjoy.
