Temple House
|
|
Temple House is a classical Georgian Manor House set in an estate of 1000
acres, overlooking a 13th century lakeside castle of the Knights Templar.
The Percevals have lived here since 1665. The present house was refurbished
in 1864 and retains its old atmosphere, furnishings and some canopied beds.
Meals are thoughtfully prepared using fresh local ingredients, including produce from the farm and walled garden. There are terraced gardens and miles of woodland walks. Guests may also explore the lake in a rowing boat or fish for pike. Within easy reach are beautiful beaches, archaeological sites, riding schools, trout lakes and golf courses. Traditional music and dancing sessions are often held nearby. Temple House is not an inn nor a hotel, rather a family-owned country manor on a 1200 acre estate almost surrounding Temple House Lake. County Sligo has many archaeological sites [5000+ B.C.], riding stables, well known golf courses, magnificent mountain scenery, lakes, waterfalls and miles of beautiful beaches. We can help plan your day tours to the cliffs of South Donegal, Ceide fields and Achill in Co. Mayo, the lakes and National Trust Houses of Fermanagh and the hills of Connemara. Golf - Rosses Point (www.rossespoint.com), Bundoran, Strandhill, Tobercurry and Enniscrone with Kilcullen's Edwardian sea-weed bath house nearby. Fishing can be arranged. Riding and Trekking - Markree riding stables and Island View.
